Today was the first wet windy day for a while so I made doorsnakes to keep out the cold. They're all pegged up waiting to be filled.

Strandbeest

Second week of term and I'm reclaiming my creativity with a visit into Fed Square to the galleries and to visit a new friend. You may have encountered Theo Jansen's strandbeest before, but it's so amazing to see in real life!

DIY Advent Calendar

It's true... I am easily distracted. Today is my few precious child free hours, I planned to get everything ready for markit@fedsquare tomorrow!

Instead, in a fit of Christmas Spirit I made a 'make your own' Advent Calendar. All you have to do is print out the 4 A4 pages below onto some card, cut them out, fold up the boxes and fill them with treats!

I used double sided tape when I was making the boxes (remember to leave to top flap with the number unstuck!) but you could use glue-stick instead.

For the main tree, print two pages and stick them back to back onto another piece of card to make it stronger.

Don't worry, I did package up some lovely organic cotton fabric bundles, so I won't be at markit empty handed.

Introducing...

Ficus in toffee and sherbert, modelled here by my newest trainee assistant! She's helping me get ready for Markit in less than 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to getting out and being surrounded by lovely creative people again, it's been a while!

a little update

Whoops.. missed a month, but that's what happens when you have a 7 month old!

I've also been doing a bit of embroidery..

and planning for a day out with some new designs, kits and other goodies here..
