I've had quite a few requests for this recently, so thought maybe I should put some in the shop! I've got scraps and offcuts and various pieces that I've packaged up in 100g bags. Kind of like bananas or persimmon or something else equally wholesome... I've attempted to get a random mix of fabrics in each pack along with various sizes, shapes etc. You'll get at least a few good squares along with strips and other random shapes. Perfect for trims, pockets, patchwork and applique... or some ears for a softie... you get my drift - loads of uses!

I'm very excited to have a new colourway in the shop. The Daises and Orchard have been so popular in the red, I've reprinted them in the red along with a gorgeous teal.
I love these two designs and am looking forward to creating new cushions for the kids in contrasting colourways with them! I don't know who will get which colour... Whatever I decide they'll want what the other has - will they ever grow out of that?

Another bird to add to my collection, this time in the stream bubble fabric. I adjusted the pattern I discovered here to give it a longer rounder beak and I like how it looks!
In other news, I've been slowly and quietly working on a new 'professional' website and I finally have it online here. I'm planning to print onto heavier basecloth for upholstery uses, so this website is my first step in that direction. I've put it together myself with more than a little assistance from my sister. However if there are any teething issues, they will most likely be my doing... please tell me if you find any!!
New cushions in the new shop! Prices shown are now in Australian Dollars. You will soon be able to buy these gorgeous cushions from a few places around Melbourne. More on that soon...
I've also included a page where you can see many of the beautiful creations people have made! Take a look!

I've been so busy with kids and family and visiting and stuff that I've not had time to think about much else recently. Our occasional care place is closing down in September so we've been busy trying to work out kids activities and childcare to fill the gap between then and Christmas, because in February they are both going to start new extended hours childcare/kinder. It seems hardly worth the settling in period when they have to finish up at the end of the year... on the other hand, those 3 hours twice a week has been all the regular free time I have had and I do need that time, so I might be pulling my hair out within days of having them both home full time! And it's not just for me, my 3 year old definitely needs that extra stimulation!
So my mind has been kid focussed... hence the new design I am sending to the printer today... we have had many talks about emotions, how you feel, I feel and other people feel, so this design has provoked a lot of discussions. I like that. Particularly the face with no mouth at all. We often talk about how she might be feeling...

I'm off to Sydney for the weekend (with one sister, to see another sister) to meet my brand new nephew!! I will be taking with me a little something handmade... I really thought I would have finished it by now considering I started it when he was born 4 weeks ago!
My kids have been hindering, I mean helping, me. They have been trying to get the stuffing in, too much, too little, then little hands pushing the bells so firmly inside they 'tink' rather than tinkle... I thought I'd make two and take one to Mikes for Mirabel next time I'm north of the river! Well that's the plan... I'm going to have to finish the little softie on the plane... I'm so looking forward to having no-one on my lap on the flight!!
I'm presuming my sister is too sleep deprived to waste time reading this entry so this little trinket will be a surprise!

I've been tidying up my 'studio' (and I do use that term very loosely!) and have found a whole metre of the daisies fabric in red hidden away. I've put it in the shop in case anyone wants it before the new print run arrives with more lovely juicy red and a new teal...

I've been having a bit of fun with buttons recently. Which is funny because I always had a thing against them, maybe stemming from childhood and my grandma's large button collection that was old and musty and smelly and exactly the sort of thing I would find interesting and pretty now.
I've been using the kits that you buy from sewing stores, but I've seen those button making lever machines... I'd just have to justify the expense by making hundreds of buttons... but I don't know what I'd use them all for!

New fabric in the shop inspired by a bubbling brook! This fabric looks great from a distance with strong horizontal lines as well as having the bubbly detail when viewed close up! I am planning to also print this in another colour as well, but that might be some time away... So you'll just have to enjoy the black for a while!
