A New Laundry

An exclusive colourway of the Laundry Birds on a gorgeous taupe coloured linen/cotton has just flown off to the new Kelani Fabrics! I fell in love with this colourway when it was done so it was difficult to see it all go in one hit! I tell you though this shop is full of exclusive little numbers - get on over there and take a look!

So Easy Cafe Apron Tutorial

We have just had a gourmet weekend away on the Mornington Peninsula and I don't think I can eat any more food for at least a month!! We had five couples in the house plus 3 kids.
It was a gastronomic delight. We visited wineries, ate lunch at another lovely vineyard where we enjoyed an amazing view and some gorgeous pizza then took our booty home and produced an amazing dinner. Each couple was responsible for one course and we ate so well that we had to defer one course until the next day!

This apron would have been useful had I remembered to pack it!

This is the easiest Apron ever!

All you need is:
One Tea Towel (try to get a plain colour and natural fibre eg cotton, hemp or linen)
One piece of Feature Fabric 50cm x 30cm for the pocket
2 pieces of ribbon or twill tape each long enough to go around your waist twice.

Fold all the edges of the pocket in 1cm and iron, fold again and pin hems into place. Sew the top edge. Place the pocket in the centre of the teatowel and pin into place. Sew across the bottom, then down each side and oncece down the middle to divide the pocket into two. I used contrasting cotton here so you can clearly see the pockets.

Roll over both ends of each piece of ribbon and hem. Attach one ribbon to each of the 2 top corners and you're all done!

* Instead of a tea towel you could use any fabric (60 x 40cm) you have on hand and hem the edges all the way round.

** If, like me, you plan to have more foodie weekends, you may have to extend the lengths of the ribbon ties...

Spring migration

New fabric, new colours and an old favourite! This time the print is full width 137cm wide on lovely linen/cotton fabric. Since we had to make the new screens, I increased the scale of the birds slightly to show more wing details, so now they're even cuter than before!Mix packs are up in the etsy shop along with fabric by the metre, which can also be found here!
The increased width now makes the print perfect for larger scale projects and curtains. Meanwhile, I'm just loving the bright colours! Enjoy!

A little bird told me..

We're back! We had such a gorgeous time at the beach, meeting a new cousin, playing in the sand and swimming. Now we're back in moody weather looking forward to the real summer ahead! I arrived back to a full inbox which included these gorgeous pictures of Little Bird at Elliot - a new shop in Port Elliot which is full of gorgeous independently designed goodies. See my stockists list for more details. If you're anywhere nearby you should pop in and take a peek!
I have a lot to get through, so please be patient if you're waiting for a response from me, I'm methodically working my way through my inbox. We should be all back on track in a day or two. I've got a new run of Laundry Birds almost ready to go in a couple of delicious new colours. I've also got a few loads of holiday laundry to get through. Lets see which gets done first!

Buckets and Baskets

I've been playing around with the sewing machine and have come up with these two little numbers... just got to work out what to use them for!
